Shepherd Book is Portland’s newest two piece metal band. On Monday afternoon we decided to check out a Megachurch and rehab compound thats been abandoned for the past five years. What we found were the remnants of an old cult, toxic mold and penis graffiti on almost every wall. Band photos below, penis graffiti to follow in the next couple of days.

On Wednesday night I went to a benefit show at the Holocene for Tom Tom Magazine. The lineup featured all female drummers including my favorite, Janet Weiss. They were all incredibly talented and hot. The hallway at the venue was decorated with beautiful photographs of female musicians. I was with good company and the bartenders were on top of their game. What more can you ask for?

Last night I went location scouting for some upcoming shoots. I think I just discovered a new playground. Click on the thumbnails to scroll through the photos. Last nights session was inspired by the puffy cat listening to the cassette tape player below.

This afternoon I had a photo shoot with indie pop sensation New Century Schoolbook. We had a little less than an hour to do it so we ran around the Hollywood Antique Mall like a bunch of new century school girls.

Whats that on the horizon? A new photo studio on the top floor of the Portland Storage Co. building (3rd and Morrison across from Montage) and an art show at the end of the month. I’m sharing the space with some of Portland’s finest female photographers. The building is wonderfully creepy, has lots of natural light and is complete with a freight elevator.
